Claude Code

One command adds Solrouter's MCP server to Claude Code: sealed private chat plus research tools, with your API key in SOLROUTER_API_KEY.

Give Claude Code a second model it can hand private work to. Anything sent through encrypted_chat is sealed on your machine and opened only inside the Intel TDX enclave.

Setup

Add the server

Run this once in your terminal, with your own key:

claude mcp add solrouter -e SOLROUTER_API_KEY=sk_solrouter_... -- npx -y @solrouter/mcp-server

Run claude mcp list to confirm it is registered.

Use it

Start Claude Code and ask it to use the tool by name for anything you do not want leaving your machine in plaintext:

Recommended models

Model	Why
`gpt-oss-20b`	The default for `encrypted_chat`. General questions and summaries
`nosana:qwen3-coder:30b`	Code review and refactors. Ask Claude Code to pass it as `model`

Each call is capped at 8K tokens of context and 4K of output, so send a diff or a file, not a whole repository. See Models.

What is sealed

Sealed: encrypted_chat, and the final model step of private_research, private_token_analysis, and private_wallet_audit.
Not sealed: the lookups those research tools make. Search text goes to Brave, token symbols to DexScreener and CoinGecko, and wallet addresses to the Solana RPC, straight from your machine. agent_run sends your prompt to Solrouter's backend in plaintext.

When it fails

Symptom	Fix
No Solrouter tools in the tool list	The server is read when Claude Code starts. Quit it and start it again. Check `claude mcp list`.
`SOLROUTER_API_KEY is not set`	The key was not passed. Remove the server with `claude mcp remove solrouter` and add it again with `-e`.
401 unauthorized	The key is mistyped or deleted. Keys start with `sk_solrouter_`.
402 insufficient funds	Your plan calls are used up and the USDC balance is below $0.02. Pick a plan or add USDC. See Pricing.
`BRAVE_API_KEY not configured`	`private_research` and `private_token_analysis` need a Brave Search key. Add `-e BRAVE_API_KEY=...`, or use `encrypted_chat`.
"Nosana GPU node is warming up"	The model's node was idle. Wait a moment and ask again.

Keep the key out of shared shell history and dotfiles in git. Anyone with it can spend your plan.
